It is important to remember to get enough liquids while on the trail, as the extra energy used, the climate change, and the altitude change cause dehydration, and it happens before you know it.

Mountain streams offer the best pure drink available, and we suggest that you stop often for some of this fresh cold water (it’s wisest to choose water that bubbles a lot, moves fast, and gets sunshine, following the precautions described in the Hints section of this website to treat water either by boiling or filtering.
