Serves two
This turns out thick like chowder and, served with Chapatis and wild greens, it makes a delicious meal. Easy and quick to make, even in your tent on a snowy eve. It’s good served over noodles and grains, too.
• 1/4 cup tomato powder
• 5 teaspoons curry powder
• 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
• 1/2 teaspoon cumin, ground
• 1/2 teaspoon coriander seed, ground
• 1/2 teaspoon ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon tarragon (optional)
• 1 onion, chopped, or 1 tablespoon onion flakes
• 1 clove garlic, minced, or 1/8 teaspoon garlic granules
• 2 teaspoons tamari sauce
• 2 cups water
• 1 6 1/2-ounce can shrimp, tuna, or other seafood or 1/2 cup freeze-dried seafood
Mix all ingredients except seafood. (if using fresh onion, sauté it first). Simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Add seafood and let sit 1 minute.
