Serves two
A good winter cereal, high in protein and a source of calcium and iron.
• 2/3 cup cracked millet (crack in blender or food grinder)
• 2/3 cup dates
• 1/2 cup black walnuts, filberts, or almonds, chopped large
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons sesame oil or butter (optional)
• coconut (optional)
• 2 cups water
Bring all ingredients to a boil, stirring often. Put over low fire and simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle top with coconut if you like, and serve with or without milk.
