Home-Dried Mushrooms
Wash one or more pounds mushrooms and gently wipe dry. String with a needle and heavy thread, with the needle going through the center from top to bottom. Hang horizontally until dry, about 3 days. If you are using large wild mushrooms, slice about 1/2 inch thick, string as above, putting the needle through sideways, and dry the same way.
