Burns (minor)
A burn is an open wound, and should be treated as such. Immediately immerse in cold water, and leave there for 5 minutes or so. Remove from water and, in order to clean any possible dirt out, pour soap and water or a salt water solution over the burn. (Avoid bothering the area as much as possible). Carefully pat dry and air briefly. A cool or body-temperature healing poultice of powdered golden seal, comfrey, or plantain may be applied, or cover area with honey or olive or wheat germ oil. Apply a clean fluffy dressing or cloth (Ace bandage preferably) and cover with compression on wound to keep fluid in, as loss of fluid through a large burn is often a danger. Keep covered for 3 days before changing, if possible.
