Cashew Milk / Almond Milk
Makes 2 cups
A delicious addition poured over hot cereal or pudding, millet and dates, rice and raisins. A refreshing drink for small children.
• 1 cup cashews, ground fine
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups water
At home, grind nuts and mix in vanilla and honey. Carry in plastic bottle. In camp or on the trail, slowly add cold fresh water and mix well.
VARIATION: for almond milk, follow recipe but blanch and peel almonds first.
