Serves three to four
• 3/4 cup green split peas
• 1/2 cup barley
• 2 tablespoons dehydrated carrots
• 1 tablespoon celery flakes
• 2 teaspoons vegetable-seasoned broth powder
• 2 teaspoons onion flakes
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/8 teaspoon garlic granules
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 tablespoon oil
• 5 cups water
Bring water and oil to a boil. Slowly sprinkle in dry ingredients. Stir; cover. Bring to boil again, and keep at high simmer for 45 to 60 minutes or until peas have softened.
