Serves two
Put some cheese in your bowl and pour on some of this chili. Good with cornbread cakes on a cold 10,000-foot night.
• 1 cup lentils
• 3 tablespoons tomato powder (optional)
• 2 tablespoons masa or corn flour (optional)
• 1 tablespoon chili powder
• 1 tablespoon onion flakes
• 1 teaspoon cumin
• 1 teaspoon oregano
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 garlic clove or 1/8 teaspoon garlic granules
• 4 cups water
Combine all ingredients and simmer 30 to 45 minutes depending on altitude.
