Peanut Butter Soup

Serves two

• 2 tablespoons onion flakes
• 2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper
• 1 bay leaf
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 cup milk powder
• 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 4 cups water

Package first six ingredients in one bag and the milk powder and cheese in a separate one. In camp, put butter in soup pan and melt. Add onion, flour, salt, celery seed, pepper, and bay leaf and stir well. When flour starts to stick to bottom, add 3 cups water, stir well, and bring to a boil. In the meantime, mix 1 cup water, milk powder, and Parmesan cheese. As soon as mixture on fire boils, add peanut butter and stir it in well. THen add milk mixture and stir again. Bring this to a boil and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. May be served with soya-bacon bits on top. May be eaten hot or cold.
