Green Pea Soup with Seaweed Green

Serves three to four

A light soup that is a surprisingly good combination. Try serving it with Cheese Toasties for a light meal, with popcorn for dessert.

• 1 1/2 cups green split peas
• 1/4 cup vegetable-seasoned broth powder
• 3 by 3-inch square of kombu
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon oil
• 5 cups water

Bring water to a boil. Add all ingredients and cook at a high simmer for 45 to 50 minutes.
